Casino payout times in Ontario
Reviewed by Danielle Tremblay, Editor
Payout time is the gap between clicking withdraw and seeing money in your bank, and it is made of two different things that get conflated: the operator's review of your request, and the payment network's settlement. Understanding which is which explains almost every complaint you will read. Review time depends on your account status and the casino's queue. Settlement depends purely on the method you chose. This page breaks the timeline down stage by stage for the five licensed Ontario casinos we cover, gives realistic ranges by method rather than best-case marketing figures, and explains why a first withdrawal is almost always the slowest you will experience. All five operators are registered with the AGCO and contracted by iGaming Ontario.

Typical ranges by method
Interac: same day to one day at BetMGM, LeoVegas, PlayOJO and 888casino, one to two days at Jackpot City. Online bank transfer: one to two business days. PayPal, where offered: around a day. Visa and Mastercard: one to four business days. These are from request to funds available, on verified accounts with no open bonus.
The pending period
Most operators hold a request for a review window before processing. During that window some casinos allow you to reverse the withdrawal and play the money instead, which is the single most expensive feature in online gambling. Turn it off where the option exists. If it does not, request payouts when you are finished playing, not mid-session.
Why your first payout is slowest
Identity, age and address verification is a legal requirement for registered Ontario operators, and if you have not completed it, the clock starts on document review rather than on the payment. Documents are usually reviewed within a day, but a blurry photograph or an out-of-date statement can add two or three. Verify immediately after registering and this disappears permanently.
Weekends, holidays and banks
Operator review runs seven days a week but with thinner staffing at weekends. Card and bank settlement follow business days, so a Friday evening card withdrawal can realistically land the following Wednesday. Interac is the exception and moves at weekends, which is another reason it is the default recommendation for Ontario players.
