Safer play tools on licensed Ontario casinos
Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders and time-outs — what each tool does and how to set it before you need it.

Every casino registered in Ontario has to give you tools to control your own play. They work best when you set them on day one, while nothing has gone wrong.
Deposit limits
A deposit limit caps how much you can add to your account per day, week or month. Lowering a limit takes effect straight away; raising it is deliberately delayed, so a limit set calmly protects you later. Set it to an amount you would be comfortable losing entirely.
Loss and wager limits
Some operators let you cap net losses or total stakes over a period. These are useful if you tend to redeposit after a losing run, because they act on the outcome rather than the transfer.
Session reminders and reality checks
A reminder interrupts play at a set interval and shows how long you have been on and how you stand. Thirty or sixty minutes is a sensible setting. It sounds minor; in practice it is the tool most players say changed their habits.
Time-outs and self-exclusion
A time-out locks your account for a short fixed period, from a day to several weeks. Self-exclusion is longer and more serious. Ontario players can also use the province-wide self-exclusion route through iGaming Ontario, which covers registered operators rather than just one site.
