Responsible gambling
Gambling is entertainment, not income
The only sustainable way to approach a casino is to treat the money you deposit as the price of an evening out: spent when it goes in, not an investment expected to return. Every game in a licensed lobby has a built-in mathematical edge for the house, and no strategy, system or session length changes that. If you are depositing to win back a loss, the activity has stopped being entertainment.
Tools every licensed casino must offer
Because they are registered in Ontario, all five casinos on this site have to give you deposit limits, loss limits, session time limits, reality-check reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion. Set a deposit limit on the day you register, before a session has ever gone badly — increases take effect only after a cooling-off period, while decreases apply immediately. A reality check every thirty minutes is the single most useful setting most players never turn on.
Self-exclusion
A time-out locks your account for a short period. Self-exclusion is longer and firmer, and Ontario operators must honour it. If you want to step away from the whole regulated market rather than one site, self-exclusion programmes are available through the operators and through provincial support services.
Where to get help
ConnexOntario provides free, confidential support twenty-four hours a day, every day, at 1-866-531-2600, and online at connexontario.ca. The service is for anyone affected by gambling, including family members and friends. Calling is not a commitment to stop; it is a conversation with someone who does this every day.
